E-learning course for host parents in au pair cases
At least one of the adults in all families who are going to have an au pair must complete the course. If you are two adults in the family, we recommend that you take the course together.
How to complete the course
Please go to the e-learning course (external website), create a user account and log in. The course will take about 30 minutes to complete, and ends with a short test which you have to pass.
When you have completed the course, you will receive a course certificate by email to the address you provided when you registered for the course, at the latest 24 hours after you completed the course. The course certificate is valid for 18 months.
You must forward the certificate to the au pair by email or by post. The au pair must hand in the certificate together with the other application documents to the police, the embassy/consulate or the Visa Application Centre.
What will you learn?
In the e-learning course you who are going to be host parents will become familiar with the purpose of the au pair scheme, as well as the rights and obligations which you and the au pair have.
In the course you will also been given tips on how to make the au pair feel welcome, and how to handle cultural differences and any challenges which can arise during the stay. The course has been developed in co-operation between UDI and the Au Pair Center in Oslo.
Have you lost the course certificate?
The course certificate is valid for 18 months. If you cannot find the email with the course certificate, you can log onto the e-learning course (external website) with the same user name and password as when you completed the course. You will find the course certificate by clicking on ‘Mine aktiviteter’ on the first page of the course. Please print the course certificate, scan it and send it to the au pair by email, or send it by post.
