Information about individual cases

The cases we process contain confidential personal information. Anyone who has a case at UDI can choose to give a journalist insight into his/her case. By providing such consent, the applicant provides the journalist with the same right of access to the case documents as the applicant him/herself.
To give a journalist access, the applicant (the person who has a case at UDI) must fill in a consent form. See links to the form below.
The applicant then gives consent for personal information to be published to the public. It is the journalist's responsibility to ensure that the person who signs the consent form understands what the consent implies.
The consent is valid for up to one month and can be withdrawn at any time.
When we have received the completed form and copy of the applicant's ID card, UDI is exempt from the duty of confidentiality. Then the journalist will have access to information, and UDI can comment on the relevant case.
The ID card must have a photo and signature.
Send the consent form to samtykke-presse@udi.no, together with a copy of the ID card.
If the person is a minor, the representative must also sign the consent and attach a copy of their ID card.
